Custom Fabrications and Coatings is a woman owned business and is a leader in the industry of steel fabrication. Our fabrication department is focused on providing our customers with a source for specialty parts. An in-house engineer will work with you to develop drawings of your ideas or needs.
In our Granite City facility, we have the capacity to shear and bend materials up to 1/2" in thickness and 10 feet wide. All our plate shearing and bending is performed by qualified technicians. If you ever needed a part that is no longer available or if you have special racking needs, our technicians are here to help.
Our fabrication department is AISC certified-Standard for steel building structures, bridge fabrication intermediate (major), bridge and highway metal components, fracture critical endorsement with an enclosed endorsement for painting.
All welders are AWS certified using the latest Miller and Lincoln Equipment. We have three CWI's on staff, in house QA/QC, engineering & project management. Our management staff has an average of 30 years experience in steel fabrication.
We are located on 7 acres near interstates 70, 270, 55, and 40 with access to river facility for rail and barge shipping. Our fabrication shop has over 100,000 square feet of enclosed shop space and 50 employees.

Since 1989, our crew has fabricated steel for projects including Corps of Engineers, Raiders Stadium, Colts Stadium, Holcim Cement, Busch Stadium, Center Ethanol, Multi Modal Transit Station, Ameren Power Plants, Cowboy Stadium, Coffeen Power Station, First Energy, Midtown Clock Tower, Stennis Space Center, Holcim Raw Mill Feed Building, Lakefront Bike Trail 2 and Metra/Up North Line Reconstruction among many others.
Custom Fabrications and Coatings completed the fabrication for Phase II of Lakefront Trails for the Flyover Bridge at Navy Pier.
